Well - the Pirates have fought their BIG battle - but the smaller skirmishes continue every Thursday so you can still be a member of the Brixham Buccaneers band.
The mile of Pirates record was scuppered by a few yards but - there is always next year!
The Heritage Festival once again provided a wonderful week of music, dance, fun and games.
a HUGE thank you to Pat Osborne and her very hard working team for pulling out all the stops to ensure that you got Entertainment with a capital E. Fantastic, wonderful, amazing, superb - I don't think there are enough accolades to give to this annual event.
Make a date in your diaries to come and be a part of it in 2012 if you missed this year.
The 18th June will be the turn of the Annual Trawler Race at Brixham. You may not have a place on board one of the competing trawlers but you can enjoy the spectacle from the shore, on Victoria Breakwater or take a trip on one of the ferries criss crossing the bay for a close up view of the action.
The Fish Market will be open to the public with a selection of stalls for you to savour the unique ambiance linked with Brixham - The Mother Port of Fishing.
To fully understand the process of fishing - from the sea to the table - why not make an early start and join one of the special Fish Market Tours - 1st July, 29th July, 12th August and 23rd September - 6.00am Start - £7.50 to include Breakfast and a donation to the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen - call Christine on 07788 185174 to book your place.
Don't forget you can now find the Brixham Tourism Partnership on Facebook - drop in for a chat, ask for advise, we are all happy and keen to help - especially if it helps you to see how great Brixham is!
